Maurine Gubia

You don't always have to understand it, sometimes you just feel it. I love these mixed media works by Maurine Gubia. I love the naive feel, the child like distortion of proportions but hidden beneath the running of colours and distortion/abstraction there is real skill involved. if you look back at her earlier works, they are reall quite detailed and realistic, but her work becomes increasingly more abstracted over time. Wonderful.
