what a great packaging concept, it involves the user and is a keep sake at the same time. It's playful and beautiful. via the dieline

Typochocolate
Yummy, slabs of chocolate embossed with delicious typography. I want to be nibbling on this right now, slowly because you know it's too difficult to bite through it.

Bison
I love this graphic design team. they combine photography, illustration and digital manipulation to create fresh and exciting new works. Although they do have that 'contemporary' feel seen in todays graphic art movement they also have their own personal twist using a range of media.
I love how they describe their creative process :
"...Experimentation is the key to discovery and thus find
ways around the tried and tested approach producing
a fresh and unexpected result,

I suck
Sometimes we all doubt ourselves and our own abilities. But you have to trust that you are good.
I wish I always believe that, heh.

New look
So I finally got inspired to redesign the look of my blog. I was not completely happy with the original design (below) but was totally stumped on how it should look. Do you ever experience a mental block when it comes to designing for yourself? Sure you can see how others can improve their work, and you can easily design for others. But trying to capture yourself in an image (or typology in this case) causes a major brain melt down and fear of making a mistake. I spent too long thinking and not enough doing and was too afraid to just let my creativity flow, and so my first banner was a total let down form me and failed to have that 'pop' that i wanted. I love my new design, I think its optimistic and really portrays the aim of this blog. What do you think? Hope you like it.
Out with the old, in with the new.
Out with the old, in with the new.

Moxy Creative House
How fun are these? Moxy Creative House create these fun posters immortalizing musical icons by identifying them through their clothing. Fun and clever.

How to feel miserable as an artisit
Well i thought this was great! Rings true to me. Any designer or artist I am sure felt this way at some point. So here it is, it gives us hope in that we're not the only one struggling, and that others have made it and that we too can make it through and find happiness in our own work. Found here on Keri Smiths website.

Kyle Tezak
Tezak, graphic designer, does some pretty cute and clever thing. I especially like his hand draw thumbnails that are explored for some of the work he created.

LeZink
Some very cool examples of graphic design in publications.
Just smart and interestng layouting and graphics, used in these magazine and article designs. LeZink has a very nice style. He makes collages using imagery, illustrations both hand drawn and digitally drawn and fuses it all together using textures, colours, and shapes to create some very pleasing graphic art with excellent composition and balance.
