Fluxmachine

I discovered this great blog last night (since this - searching the interwebs-  is all I do lately after graduating) and its really cool and different. There are soooo many blogs out there and most of them do the same thing, admittedly I am one of those but sometimes you come across a gem of originality. Kevin weir, takes on the 'gif' and instead of regurgitating other peoples work i short moving bursts he creates his own masterful moving pieces. Weird and wonderful stuff.

Wind Map

This is a very cool live mapping of wind. Mapping an intangible force such as wind can be difficult, and this is a lovely example of how it can be done. See the moving map here.

Philipp Schaerer

Philipp Schaerer is an architect who specialises in creating photomontages, he is commissioned to create architectural photomontages however his personal work is what i find most interesting. It captivates me, and moving through his images, I am always surprised at his skill, though the images themselves are quite minimalist but the skill, precision and eye for balance are engaging.

"The main focus of my interest lies in the creation of images which try to reflect a built, exaggerated reality" - interview with Philipp

The work featured her is his Bildbauten series. Check out his "making of"

Kim Asendorf

Glitches, pixels and experiments. Most of his work makes me think what? And his website is hilarious and dificult to navigate but there are many gems within his work, very interesting artist.

Beautiful fine art photography/ mixed media. Inspired by chinese style calligraphy painting, these works are a look at contemporary cities while somehow calling on the past and future at the same time. Beautiful.

Magic

So i recently started to watch a childhood show "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and reading the rest of the Harry Potter series and it has got me thinking and fantasising about magic. I wish I had magical powers, like flying, I love those dreams where you are flying. I always feel so free and happy.

Lissy Elle, creates these wonderful and wistful magic filled moments. There seems to be a general disassosiation from photo manipulation in the photography world and a move towards the 'natural, true to life and real' expression in photography as of late. however I've always thought a well manipulated photograph is just as valid and beautiful. She is really skilled, and has a magical eye.

Dream Scape

I always love a good fantasy/ supernatural theme, if i had time and money I would love to create scenes from scratch and have some lovely models pose for me, almost like stills from films where a story is captured in one image. Where a photograph makes you wonder what happens next. Here are some magical scenes from various artists. I apologise for not having links to artists, most I have lost over time. If anyone knows respective artist please leave a comment, I do not wish to offend anyone nor claim this is my own artwork.

Brian Walker

Check these out.  Described as hyper-reality meets fantasy. Imagine the hours spent photo-shopping these into seamless out-of-this world pieces of art work. Dedication is one word for it. I do 't think i would have the patience. The work he does walks a fine line between this world and sci-fi, the way he manipulates skin texture and the positioning of the body makes human into something extraordinary. Here is some more of his work.

Mad Monday Art

This is one of my newest art adventures. It is a poster i made for a friend that recently moved away to another country. His name is Tom, and this is dedicated to him.
